John Tiedemann Incorporated (JTI) is a three-generation, family-owned company that has specialized in historic restoration for over 70 years. JTI has gathered a skilled team of designers, plasterers, painters, faux finishers, artisans, and fine artists who bring their experience, skill, and passion to every project we undertake.

Our focus has consistently been on preserving the architectural integrity of historic buildings, significantly reducing restoration costs through innovative tools and methods.

JTI BOOM

The “Boom” is a technology first developed by John Tiedemann in 1953. The idea came to him when the cost of scaffolding was too high for most churches to afford. He designed an out-rigger system that many thought would fail.

HPCS

In partnership with HPCS, JTI has been actively engaged in the development of new conservation techniques, creating a growing catalog of specialized tools designed to address the unique challenges that fragile plaster presents.

John Tiedemann Inc. is leading the first complete professional restoration of the Landmark Theatre’s auditorium since its opening in 1928. This $1.5 million project, supported by state and local contributions, is scheduled for completion in time for the 2025–26 Broadway season opener, Hamilton.
